Niel Johnson (Plays Gregor in Artificer, played Trogar AKA Mop-head in Omega and is going to be my best man at the wedding) is moving to Manchester and is looking for a roleplayers with space in their current group and 40K players.

It looks like he's going to be in NW Manchester, but is close to the motorway and happy to travel. Let me know if you know of any available groups and I'll pass details on.

After 18 months with the same, now increasingly battered phone it's time for an upgrade.

WiFi, Calendar syncing, Camera >= 3.0 MP, MP3 Player, Takes Memory Cards of 2GB or better, 3G and GPS is my wish list.

I've been looking at the Nokia N95. Any comments on that phone or other suggestions?

Thank you to everyone who offered to sign and witness things for us.

All of the paperwork is now where it should be and we're keeping our fingers crossed.

Hey all. We need a doctor, teacher, accountant or lawyer to sign copies of our ID as part of the whole house buying process.

Any volunteers nearby we can pester to sign things?

Our initial offer was turned down, we upped it a bit and it's been accepted!  We need to get it all finalised and get the morgage paperwork sorted out, but as they don't have a chain we could be moving pretty soon!

It's just round the corner, a 3 bed (although 2 are tiny and will probably become studies) terrace and has enough space out back that Abi can do fun things with plants.

Just been to a very nice meal at Wagamama's with [profile] batelfand [profile] cuthroseand came home to discover a letter from the solicitors dealing with the claim from the guy that clipped me.  Turns out that he doesn't seem to be insured/and or is claiming that he wasn't driving.  It now looks like I'm going to loose my 10+ years of no-claims and have to pay £100 excess.

Any ideas how to handle this?  I wouldn't have even claimed it he hadn't said it was entirely his fault and to put it all on his insurance.

More fun that anything I didn't pay for had any right to be.

Lots of cruncy doom for the players, cool NPC roles for me and a decent site to do it all in.

If you like your NPCing towards the physical side but still with plenty of chance to do talky stuff drop Fain a line via Rule 7, next event is in November.

I'd froth more but I'm knackered!

I've finally knitted enough mail (almost) to make small vest and have therefore started wondering how I'm going to attach arms to said vest.

Any one got any decent patterns?  The only one I've found so far will force me to unpick half of what I've done in order to stick triangles into the shoulders which may well be the correct way to do it, but I'd rather not if I don't have to.

A movie version of The Dark is Rising is coming out at the end of September.  My initial glee at this and on discovering that Christopher Eccleston would be playing The Rider was somewhat dampened when I realized that the director was the man behind The Path to 9/11...

Here's keeping my fingers crossed that they haven't mutilated it too much and that they can keep some of the feel of the book.

So, that leather helmet I wore as Simonson at Omega... Did I lend it to anyone or has it got lost in moving up to Manchester?

Afternoon all.
For those who don't know I moved house at the start of the month and am not living on my own (and enjoying ever minute of it). This leads to people asking when the housewarming is. Right now it's looking like being the Saturday of May Day weekend (5th), as this means I can combine it with my birthday thereby killing two birds with one party.

I'm still netless at home (borrowing the Parr's PC right now) and useful sites are blocked at work but I intend to rectify this in the next week or so. So if anyone needs to get hold of me it's still mobile only.

I got clipped by a bloke in an Audi going round a roundabout on the way back from the reenactment market.

As this is the first time I've been involved in an accident since I started driving I've got no idea of the best way to deal with it. I've got his details but haven't got mine together yet.

What's the normal procedure for this kind of thing?
kardrath: (Default)
Any near us got one? Abi needs one for punching a hole in a belt.
kardrath: (Default)
It looks like a really good cut down of the standard D20 rules, but I'd be interested in hearing if anyone has actually used it and what they thought.

Thanks for all the happy birthdays everyone :)

Abi and I are feeling loved.

So, what time are those who are coming round actually planning on arriving then?
